CM to chair special cabinet meeting today
Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shehbaz Sharif in his message on the World Day against Child Labour said” The nations which pay attention on the education and upbringing of their children make progress in the world. To get laborious work from innocent children is equivalent to cruelty”. Hamza Shehbaz appreciated that during the Chief Minister tenure of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif an effective legislation had been done to eradicate child labour from the province. He lauded that Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had himself led the campaign to eradicate the scourge of child labour adding that a great degree of child labour had been done away with from the brick kilns during that tenure.
CM highlighted that the children working rigorously on the brick kilns had been imparted with education during the tenure of PMLN. He underscored that a pen and a book was handed over to the innocent hands instead of a brick and mud and were also awarded with scholarships. CM deplored that unfortunately the previous government did not pay any attention to end child labour and further denounced that the previous government spoiled the hard work being done by our government with regard to eradication of child labour.
CM maintained that by the grace of Allah Almighty we would work with the same zeal and spirit to eradicate child labour as was done by Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.”
Child labour is certainly a social and an economic problem which has many ramifications behind the scene. Today’s day demands that all segments should play their effective role in order to purge child labour from the society”, CM concluded.
