CDA chairman visits F-9 Park to review upkeep & maintenance work Life returning to normalization; Islamabad reports one death, 32 new cases in a day

Chief Commissioner Islamabad who is also Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Amer Ali Ahmed on Saturday visited F-9 (Fatima Jinnah) Park to oversee the upkeep and cleanliness operation there.
The visit was in relation to opening up of parks and picnic points of the federal capital as announced a day earlier by Federal Minister and Chairman of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) Asad Umar in the backdrop of substantial progress against coronavirus.
These public places are going to be reopened from tomorrow (Monday) August 10 after a gap of around 4 months.
The special operation for upkeep and cleanliness of F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park started on Saturday morning with the objective of giving special attention to F-9 (Fatima Jinnah) Park’s cleanliness before opening it for public after its closures for many months due to Covid-19 related restrictions.
Following the directions, a large number of workers from relevant organizations including CDA and MCI have started the cleanliness and upkeep work in F-9 (Fatima Jinnah) Park.
Earlier, Chairman of the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) Ansar Aziz Sheikh has also visited and inaugurated an open air gym and supervised cleanliness of the park in June.
During his visit on Saturday, Chairman CDA talked to the general public and assured that the park would be maintained in accordance with the international standards, however, he urged them also to play their role as responsible citizens and make sure litter is not thrown in the open in the park.
“This is something Islamabad takes pride in and people in large come here for walk, stroll, jogging and quality time. It is our collective responsibility to make it reflect the civic sense of the people of Islamabad,” said Amir Ali Ahmed.
People appreciated the Chief Commissioner’s resolve to make F-9 Park a cleaner and greener place and assured their allout cooperation in this regard.
To ensure speedy completion of the assignment weekly off days of the concerned employees have also been cancelled. During this operation wild growth from the entire park will be removed. Similarly, walking tracks will be repaired where ever needed and lights will be made operational.
Chief Officer, MCI on the occasion briefed the Chief Commissioner and Chairman, CDA about the ongoing work in the park.
She informed that along with a large number of workers, machinery also is being used in a substantial number to ensure speedy completion of the cleanliness and upkeep work there.
Chief Commissioner, ICT and Chairman, CDA on the occasion issued directions that the cleanliness and upkeep work should be completed in the couple of days.
He further directed that MCI should accelerate its activities for betterment of citizens of Islamabad and added that all organizations including CDA and MCI should jointly work for this purpose.
The federal capital on Saturday reported a total of 15,214 cases of coronavirus, 12,878 recoveries and 171 deaths. This means in last twenty-four hours, one death and 32 new infections were reported.
