Pakistan can work with Mauritius in trade and tourism sectors as Mauritius has rich experience in handling tourists from across the world.
The country’s population is 1.2 million and 1.5 million tourists visit its touristic sites and scenic spots every year.
These views were expressed by Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik during a call on meeting with High Commissioner of Mauritius Rashidally Soobadar.
Pakistan, he said highly valued its ties with Mauritius and both the countries enjoy deep, cordial relations.
While expressing gratitude to Faisal Zahid Malik, High Commissioner Rashidally Soobadar said in Mauritius literacy rate is 100pc, in the health sector too, the government offers free health facilities to its citizens.
Moreover, Mauritius government provides every single Mauritian reaching the age of 60, an allowance to meet post-retirement expenses.
Tourism he said was one of the country’s main sources of revenue and the private sector is investing massively in promotion of tourism.
The government of Mauritius after the independence from the British in 1968, initiated a welfare oriented programme and worked for the welfare of its population.
Today, education is free from pre-primary to the university level while students enjoy free travelling in buses and there are no exam fees even though there is Cambridge system of examination in Mauritius.
Recently, Mauritius built a special harbour for cruise ships and we expect to get 15 to 20 cruise ships each year.
