Buzdar directs effective measures to control dengue

CM meets with journalists of Sahiwal

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to take effective measures to cope with the dengue disease in Rawalpindi, Lahore and other cities of the province and said that concerned departments and institutes should perform their duties in an effective manner for its prevention. He further directed that 100 % implementation should be ensured on the plan devised for the eradication of dengue.
All institutions should play a vibrant role for combating dengue in the province. No dereliction will be tolerated in the initiatives taken by the government for the anti-dengue campaign. Strict action would be taken against who’ll show negligence in the chalked out plan. Commissioners and Deputy Commissioner should make field teams active for anti-dengue activities.
A comprehensive attention should be paid on Indoor and outdoor surveillance for preventing dengue disease. Administrative officers should continuously monitor the initiatives taken for controlling the dengue. Shortcomings should be overcome on immediate besides. Dengue patients should be provided the best healthcare facilities in hospitals, he concluded.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar held a meeting with journalists at the Circuit House, Sahiwal and listened to their demands and proposals. The chief minister assured the journalists that the demand of the journalists’ colony will be given a sympathetic consideration. A policy is being considered to set up journalist colony at every division. Good news will be brought to the journalists at the next visit of Sahiwal. The commissioner should locate land for the journalists’ colony in Sahiwal and present a report.
The commissioner Sahiwal and other concerning officials were also present on the occasion. The chief minister also visited the Sahiwal Coal Power Plant and planted a sapling there.
The chief minister was told in the briefing on the generation and supply of electricity from the plant that the plant has generated 19.6 billion kilowatts of electricity. The chief minister praised the power generation and environment-friendly measures.
The Punjab government will continue cooperation for the coal power plant under the CPEC because this is symbol of Pak-China friendship. Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
