DHAKA – A murder case has been registered against renowned Bangladeshi cricketer and former Awami League Member of Parliament, Shakib Al Hasan, in Dhaka.
Shakib Al Hasan is accused of the murder of a government factory employee, the local Bangladeshi media reported.
The complaint was filed by the victim’s father at a local police station in Dhaka.
The latest reports suggested that Shakib Al Hasan was booked in the murder case alongside former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed.
Sheikh Hasina had resigned from her position on August 5 due to student protests and subsequently fled to India, and she is still there.
At present, Shakib Al Hasan is in Pakistan, where he is representing the Bangladesh national cricket team in the ongoing Test match in Rawalpindi.
