Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhary Fawwad Hussain said that the Azadi March has pushed the issue of Kashmir to back yard. Maulana Fazlur Rehman should understand that there is no substitute of Prime Minister Imran Khan and hence he should wait for five years because the general elections would only be held after five years.
Unfortunately, the situation in country is that there are politicians who are either sick at home, in jail or in hospital. Karachi is a mega city and revenue engine of the country, The issues of the mega city need attention and the incumbent government is fully determined to resolve all issues and as far as the water crisis in the city is concerned, the sitting government is fully determined to resolve this big issue within 16 months.
The federal minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the four-day 7th International Symposium-Cum-Training Course on Molecular Medicine and Drug Research held on Monday (November 04 to 07, 2019) at the Prof. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium, organized by at Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi (UoK). Over 700 scientists, including 100 scientists from 35 countries, including Turkey, Iran, Iraq, China, Egypt, Syria, Italy, Nigeria, Greece, USA, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Sweden, New Zealand, Hungry, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Sudan, Thailand, Oman, Cameron, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal etc, are attending the international event.
He said that he was happy to see that the culture of research is reviving in Pakistan. He said that the University of Karachi was spread over 1200 acres of land but sadly our engineering sector could not show the required progress during past 40 years and it has lagged far behind to the modern world’s approach towards science and technology.
There are more than 200 universities in Pakistan and there is dire need to extend the numbers of schools and colleges because the Universities could only be strengthened after the number of schools and colleagues would increase to a satisfactory scale.
The federal Minister said that Pakistan is introducing Solar Panel manufacturing within the country and after once the technology is set on Pakistani soil. The overall manufacturing structure would get changed. He said that Pakistan is emerging as modern state and after completing five years as government under the Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf aegis, the policies now introduced would start bearing fruits and Pakistan would regain its lost status among the international community.
Federal Minister said that The Solar Panel technology would bring an end to countrywide spread electric cables and lines. Pakistan is also focusing on manufacturing the Lithium Batteries from indigenous resources and we are uniting all leading centres of science and technology. Soon we would have a massive scale centre for the science and technology in Pakistan. He said that he would feel blessed after performing prayers under the leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman but has only political reservations with him.
