The Australian government said these steps will help migration down to sustainable levels in line with the country’s economic matters. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his country will unveil a strategy next week to bring immigration back to sustainable levels.

PM Albanese further mentioned that the continental island aims to cut the annual intake of immigrants by up to 250,000, in line with pre-Covid levels.
Under the government’s new strategy, students from other countries or low-skilled workers will face a difficult time in getting the visa. The move will create a shortage of workers, as the country of over 25 million struggles to attract professionals.
The country’s Home Affairs Minister also unveiled a new immigration strategy that left the migration system in dire straits. The new steps aimed at a huge influx of foreign residents. In mid-2023, over half million people arrive in Australia, which according to the government will create challenges for both the state and the people.
With new measures in place, international students will need to pass tougher English-language requisites. Those who are already living will need to prove plans to continue their academic career as the government looking to filter specialists or essential skilled workers.
