Attention being paid to health, education, water supply in Kohistan: Esrani

Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Gianchand Esrani said that special attention is being paid to health, education and drinking water supply in Kohistan. He said this while talking to the delegations from Bola Khan police station in his office on Tuesday.

He said that Taluka Hospital is being upgraded after the approval of Degree College in Thana Bola Khan, under which new building of Taluka Hospital has also been approved. A special ward will be reserved for children with disabilities. He said that modern facilities will be provided in the maternity home, Operation Theater and emergency wards of the taluka hospital and 30 kV solar system will be installed for uninterrupted supply of electricity.

He said that the Sindh government has approved a sports complex for the promotion of sports activities in Bola Khan police station. While the primary health centers of the taluka will also be upgraded so that the remote people can get health facilities in their nearby areas.

He said that under the Department of Minority Affairs, the development work on the places of worship of the minority community is going on rapidly in the entire province. He said that he is personally visiting all over Sindh to evaluate the speed and quality of development works. He said that yesterday he inaugurated the completion of the ongoing development schemes at Shimshan Ghat in Thatta.

The minister said that there was a fear of encroachment on the land of the Shimshan Ghat. He said that consideration is being given to taking the test under IBA Sukkur or any other reputed institution for awarding merit scholarships to the meritorious students of the minority community, on which a committee has been formed, soon in the light of the recommendations of the committee. The final decision will be taken and advertisement will be given in the newspapers for the scholarships.
