An anti-terrorism court has issued arrest warrants for the PTI founder and other party leaders in the May 9 incidents. PTI founder and other leaders were summoned by court on Thursday.
A case of attack and vandalism at the office of a sensitive institution was registered in the Civil Lines police station. The PTI founder, Fawad Chaudhry, Zartaj Gul, Shehbaz Gul and other leaders were named in the case.
Meanwhile, the district and sessions court in Islamabad will indict former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and wife Bushra Bibi in the alleged illegal Nikah case on January 10.
Civil Judge Qudratullah issued the written order on Thursday fixing the date for the indictment. The judge further said that the jail superintendent should ensure the implementation of the orders of December 22, keeping in mind the availability of space in the prison as lawyers and media representatives will attend. The Adiala Jail superintendent should decide on the number of people to be present during indictment proceedings, the judge added. Copies of all documents relating relating to the case are provided to the accused, the court order said, adding the charges in the case will be filed on January 10, 2024.
