A bloody shootout between the Security Forces and the alleged terrorists during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in DI Khan Monday afternoon resulted in the martyrdom of a colonel of the Pakistan Army. Two terrorists were also moved down in the retaliatory fire.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the security forces were conducting operation based on intelligence on a terrorists’ hideout near Tank district when the miscreants opened fire on the troops led by Col Mujeebur Rehman of the Pakistan Army. Resultantly the valiant officer of the Army Col Mujeeb who himself was leading troops, embraced Shahadat. At least two trouble makers were also killed by the army troops during the shootout.
During the clearance operation, a large cache of arms and ammunition recovered from the terrorist hideout.
The martyred Col Mujeebur Rehman hails from Bunji District Astore of Gilgit Baltistan and is survived by a widow, three sons and a daughter.

On confirmed intelligence about planning of a terrorist activity, Security Forces conducted an IBO on terrorist Hideout near Tank, DI Khan. As soon as troops cordoned the area, terrorists opened fire. During operation two terrorists (high value targets) killed. In intense exchange of fire Colonel Mujeeb Ur Rehman embraced Shahadat. During sanitization operation, a large cache of arms & ammunition recovered from terrorist hideout . Col Mujeeb ur Rehman Shaheed hailed from Bunji, District Astore. He is survived by a widow, three sons and a daughter”. An ISPR communiqué said.
