Multan

A two week anti Typhoid campaign will be launched from February 1 next year in the district wherein kids from nine months to 15 months will be vaccinated. Over one million kids of 56 Urban Union Councils of the district will be injected vaccine including Shujabad, Jalalpur and Qadirpur Raan. As many as 82 teams will vaccinate it at fixed points while 561 will work in field. A meeting in this connection was held under chairmanship of DC, Aamir Khattak and attended by CEO district health authority Dr Arshad Malik, DHO-I PS, Dr M Ali Mehdi, TCV in charge, Dr Shaukat Ali Malik and others here on Monday. The DC informed that the drive would be launched in wake of growing cases of Typhiod Fever in kids. Talking to APP Person Section officer (PSO) WHO, Dr Shaukat Ali Malik stated that the campaign was first planned in March this year and then in Oct but both had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.—APP
