In response to the threat posed by the Congo virus, authorities in Mardan District have initiated a comprehensive campaign aimed at safeguarding both animal and human health. The campaign, launched at the Civil Dispensary Hospital in Mangah, is being spearheaded by the Livestock Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the directives of Dr. Asal Khan, Director General of Livestock Department, and Dr. Misal Khan, District Livestock Director for Mardan.

Under the vigilant supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Jan, the dispensary in Mangah has become the focal point for this crucial initiative. Dr. Jan emphasized the preventive aspect of the campaign, highlighting its potential to mitigate numerous diseases. The primary focus of the campaign is the application of anti-Congo virus spray on animals across various regions.

The concerted efforts of the Mardan district livestock team have seen the establishment of dedicated camps for the administration of the anti-Congo virus spray. These camps serve as central hubs for the treatment of a multitude of animals, ensuring widespread coverage.

Dr. Bano, Veterinary Health Officer, underscored the severity of the Congo virus, emphasizing its zoonotic nature, posing a significant threat to human health. Transmission from animals to humans underscores the urgency of preventive measures.
