LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 116 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in different areas of Lahore on Tuesday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 25 premises in Subzazar Housing Scheme, 56 in Township, and 35 in Gulshah-e-Ravi and in the surroundings of Canal Bank Road for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include American Lycetuff, Dar-e-Arqam, Lahore United Model School, Masters Inn Kids School, bakers, restaurants, grocery stores, beauty parlors, pan shops, offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against land grabbers, violation of bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in Lahore.
