Ambassador of Sudan, MrSalih Mohamed Ahmed on Monday briefed the media persons about the barbaric acts of genocide, rape, robbery and ransacking by the rebel Rapid Support Forces Command (RSF) militia in various cities of his country and called upon the world to intervene and save the people of Sudan from hunger, torture and displacement.

The war in Sudan, the ambassador said erupted in April 2023, due to the ambitions of the rebel RSF Command to seize power by force.

Since the eruption of the war, the government of Sudan has welcomed all ceasefire calls and peace initiatives to stop the madness but to no avail, he regretted.

Giving details, the ambassador said, the Sudanese government signed Jeddah peace agreement that stated clearly that the rebels would evacuate the civilians’ premises they occupied after their failure to take power by force. However, they have refused to comply with the peace agreement terms and continued to use all ceasefire truces to launch fresh attacks.

The Sudanese ambassador appealed to the government of Pakistan to send as goodwill gesture and in solidarity with the people of Sudan, food and other goods particularly for the children and the women of the displaced cities of Sudan as they are facing the worst times and a humanitarian crisis is looming there. The local authorities find it challenging to meet with the demands, he further said.

The situation is becoming challenging as the rebel RSF militia has brought hundreds of thousands of mercenaries from many foreign countries including Chad, Central Africa Republic and South Sudan, and also smuggled arms and ammunitions from some countries into Sudan a threatening the local, regional and international peace and security.

The rebel RSF is committing human rights violations and war crimes since day one and committed grave crimes against humanity, including killing, looting, raping, kidnapping and arresting civilians.

The militia’s crimes caused sufferings that affected all segments of Sudanese society, and created a worse humanitarian situation, said the ambassador adding the rebels have occupied houses of citizens in Khartoum, and seized civilians and public service facilities such as schools, mosques, churches, hospitals, electricity and water stations, and turns all these places into military bases.

The rebel RSF militia has forced millions of people in states of Khartoum, Gezira, Sinnar, and the five states of Darfur, to flee their homes. The militia has also killed thousands of innocent citizens using artillery shelling especially in Al-fashir city in North Darfur, he further informed. Last week, alone the rebels committed genocide in Al-Gezira state after they invaded several villages killing hundreds of citizens. Till now tens of thousands have been killed, around 15 millions displaced and more than 3 millions are refugees in different countries, the ambassador shared startling figures.

The government of Sudan urges UN Human Rights Commission and the UN Security Council and all the international community to condemn the criminal acts of the rebel militia against the civilian people in different parts of Sudan, and to classify it as a terrorist organization, the ambassador said. A documentary was also screened on the occasion showing genocide and ransacking of government buildings like banks, hospitals and government offices by the rebel militia.

Sudan has also filed a complaint against the Republic of Chad with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights of the African Union.
