Out of four rounds ,two rounds stand completed in the 47th Pakistan Open Golf Championship endorsed and supported by Pakistan Golf Federation. This Pakistan Open Championship is being contested as a national event and aims to decide the Pakistan National Champion for the year 2020-21 and hence notable are the endeavors of the leading golf professional champions and also the amateur players of national standing. At the conclusion of the second round on Friday, the adolescent Ahmed Baig of PAF Skyview Golf Club continues to show his enormous golf playing capabilities through shot control and mastery on the greens and looks set to dominate the flow of the championship through an assertive performance. No doubt this might be upsetting for the herculean ones like Shabbir Iqbal , M. Munir and Matloob Ahmed who have reigned the golf arena of Pakistan for the past fifteen years but it appears their sway over the top positions is beginning to be challenged.
At the start of the 18 holes on Friday ,Ahmed Baig started as a leader looking energetic ,lively and spirited ,unmoved by the stress of the competition and yearning to cast a spell of ascendancy. His drives off the tee were forceful backed by errorless approach shots .These attributes fetched him six birdies and though he encountered a double bogey too plus three bogies his score for the second round was gross 70 and that added to the first days score of 70 gives him an aggregate of 140 ,four under par for two rounds and his advantage over his nearest adversary is two strokes.
Two strokes behind the leader is another youngster from Peshawar ,Taimoor Khan. This young one comes from a family of golfers and has been pursuing success with vigor and buoyancy and he finds himself holding a prominent position on the leaderboard.During the second round ,Taimoor Khan brought in the best round of the day ,a gross 69,three under par giving him a two days aggregate of 142,two under par.
