While welcoming the release of the report on the sugar and wheat crisis, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has demanded indiscriminate and stern action against all those who had minted money in the scam.
In a statement here on Sunday, he said that the loot and plunder in the country could not be controlled without true and across the board accountability.
He said he had been saying repeatedly that some people close to the government were behind the serious shortage and high prices of sugar and wheat in the country.
Sirajul Haq said that the capitalists and feudal lords who had unlawfully benefited due to the crisis in the name of subsidy should be brought to the book, the huge amounts earned by them be recovered from them and distributed among the deserving people.
The JI chief further said that the government announcements regarding the distribution of ration and allowance to the poor and the affected was not been implemented till now.
He stressed upon the government to effectively control the prices of food items during the lockdown and also ensure their availability on reasonable prices.
The Jamaat-e-Islami chief suggested the government to pay the dues of the students for three months from public exchequer and also provide free inter net facility to the students.
He said that free tests of the virus should be arranged.
Besides said the wages and allowances of all those working on the front line in the crisis including the doctors should be doubled.
Sirajul Haq said that the financial help for the affected in the corona virus should be distributed on the basis of the NADRA data instead of involving the Tiger Force, He further said that the mosque and mohallah committees besides Zakat committees should be involved in the process. He also proposed setting up of parliamentary committee to oversee the entire process.
