The elections, held biennially, are described as both a democratic exercise and a cultural celebration. The responsibility for ensuring transparency rests with the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, who announced that voting will occur on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 12 PM to 8 PM at the Arts Council premises.
Positions to Be Elected: President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and 12 Governing Body members. Voter List and Nominations: Initial voter list display: December 9. Nomination forms available: December 10. Objections to the voter list: Until 6 PM on December 11. Final voter list display: December 12. Nomination Process: Submission deadline: December 12, until 5 PM. Scrutiny of nominations: December 13, 4 PM. Withdrawal deadline: December 14, until 5 PM. Final candidate list display:
December 14, by 8 PM. The election campaign will officially end at midnight on December 20. Voters present at the premises at the close of polling hours will still be permitted to cast their votes. President Muhammad Ahmed Shah emphasized that the election date was set in consultation with the Commissioner, continuing the Arts Council’s tradition of timely announcements over the past five years.
Shah assured that the Arts Council office would remain open 24/7 to address any procedural concerns and facilitate voters. He also expressed gratitude to the media for their unwavering support, highlighting the vital role of transparency and collaboration in the Council’s election process.
