In view of growing population in cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a mega development plan called City Improvement Project has been approved with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank to ensure eco-friendly healthy living facilities including drinking water, sanitation and modern urban infrastructure in major cities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur Thursday directed immediate implementation of this most important mega project of urban development and it’s early completion.
In this regard, Project Director Wasif Shinwari gave a detailed briefing to the Provincial Minister and apprised him of the progress of the project, adding that Asian Development Bank would provide $ 7 million loan on easy installments while the provincial government has allocated $ 500,000 for it while $ 2 million would be provided through foreign grant.
Faisal Amin Gandapur expressed satisfaction over the project said that it would provided clean drinking water and other facilities to the citizens of Peshawar, Swat, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, Kohat and Bannu.
