Vacations extended till June 7 in Peshawar, other districts

At least 50 more passengers coming from Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been tested positive for coronavirus at the Peshawar airport thus taking the tally of passengers tested positive within 48 hours to almost 80.
On Tuesday, 28 passengers returning from Bahrain were tested positive for coronavirus at the same airport while at least 32 members of the airport staff were already infected with the coronavirus.
The officials of the Bacha Khan International Airport administration say the infection was confirmed in passengers of two flights coming from Dubai and Abu Dhabi Thursday morning.
The administration said that Covid-19 tests were conducted on the passengers as soon as they arrived at the airport and those tested positive of the deadly pandemic were handed over to the district administration.
According to the administration, various parts of the airport have been disinfected after the cases were reported.
Even before this, the coronavirus has been confirmed among passengers coming from the United Arab Emirates few days back.
This is the second incident of Covid-19 cases being reported among travellers at the Peshawar airport within the last three days.
On the other hand Provincial metropolis Peshawar is among the19 districts including Swat, Swabi, Noshehra, Malakand and Dir Lower where the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to keep the educational institution shut till June 27.
