RAWALPINDI – Ten Pakistani security forces troops and four personnel of law enforcement agencies embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists in ensuing clearance operations as militants’ attacks in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said Monday.
A press release shared by Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said 21 terrorists were killed in clearance operations after Sunday attacks in several parts of Balochsitan including Musa Khel, Kalat, and Lasbela districts on Sunday night.
BLA and other militant groups attempted several violent activities in Balochistan late Sunday night, which continued into the early hours of Monday.
Balochistan Attacks
Pakistan Army said such acts of terrorism, reportedly carried out at the behest of hostile forces, and aimed to disrupt the peace and development in Balochistan by targeting innocent civilians, particularly in the districts of Musa Khel, Kalat, and Lasbela.
In Musa Khel, terrorists stopped a bus in Rara Sham area and targeted innocent citizens working in Balochistan, killing at least 23 people after verifying their identities. Additionally, militants attacked Levies and police stations in Mastung, Kalat, Pasni, and Suntsar, according to media reports.
Despite the covert attacks, security forces responded swiftly, successfully neutralizing the terrorists’ plans. In the ensuing operations, 21 terrorists were killed, ensuring the security and protection of the local population. However, 14 security personnel, including 10 soldiers and four law enforcement members, were martyred during the operations.
The ongoing sanitization operations aim to bring to justice those responsible for these acts, including the instigators, perpetrators, facilitators, and abettors.
Pakistan’s security forces remains committed to countering any attempts to disrupt the peace, stability, and progress in Balochistan, with the sacrifices of these brave soldiers only strengthening their resolve, the statement concluded.
