11 miners suffocate to death in coal mine in Sanjdi, Balochistan

Eleven miners suffocated to death due to the accumulation of deadly gases in a coal mine in Sanjadi, Balochistan.

Officials said all miners died due to suffocation caused by carbon monoxide (CO) gas emissions. Rescue teams worked tirelessly to recover the bodies of the miners, which were transported to a nearby medical facility.

Those who died from gas accumulation hailed from KP’s Swat. Authorities are working to safely repatriate their bodies to their families in Swat.

Balochistan government spokesperson confirmed that a preliminary report from the Department of Mines and Minerals indicated the miners died due to toxic gas accumulation. The victims included nine workers, one contractor, and one mine manager.

Officials also expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and stated that the entire community is mourning this tragic event.

The provincial government has initiated an immediate investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident and to prevent future occurrences. The government ensure miner safety and highlighted the urgent need for stricter safety protocols in the mining industry.
