10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project guarantor of future prosperity: SAPM

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Khan inaugurated the spring tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at National Lal Sahanra Park.

Chairperson Parks and Horticulture Authority Shehla Ehsan, Prince Bahawal Khan Abbasi, Adeel Aslam, Forest Conservator Muhammad Saeed Tabassum, DFO Lal Sohanra Chaudhry Ijaz Tabassum, DFO Shahid Hameed and Dr Fazlur Rehman Shah were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, SAPM Malik Amin Aslam said that the Prime Minister wants to tackle the challenges posed by the climate change.

“According to vision of the Prime Minister, 10 billion Tree Tsunami Project is the guarantor of the country’s survival and prosperity. All resources will be utilized for the completion of this project”, he informed, adding that due to deforestation in the country and worsening climate change, large-scale plantation is essential to combat it.

He said the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Project is essential for future generations. It is the national duty of every person to plant trees and pay full attention to their growth.

He greeted the people of Bahawalpur over the outstanding performance in the Clean and Green Campaign he had witnessed during his visit last year.

He expressed his hope that this standard would be further improved. He said that evergreen and flowering plants are being planted in the parks, road mediums and intersections in the city which has enhanced beauty of the city.

Conservator of Forests Muhammad Saeed Tabassum expressed his views and shared details about the Clean and Green campaign in Bahawalpur Division.
