The 93rd birthday of Pakistan People’s Party Founder and former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was celebrated with traditional zeal. Several events were held in the City to mark the birthday of party’s founder in which he was paid rich tribute by the political workers and Jiyalas. A cake-cutting ceremony was held at the residence of PPP South Punjab deputy secretary information Saleem Bhatti in Lahore. The cake-cutting ceremony was attended by a large number of political workers including PPP’s central leaders including MNA Nawabzada Iftikhar, Naveed Chaudhry and Munawar Anjum.
The services of Bhutto were highly lauded by the speakers as they said that he was not only a visionary leader of Pakistan but a leader of entire Muslim World. “Mr Bhutto was punished by the western world for his dream of making a joint Muslim Front including an army of Islamic countries,” said the speakers. He was hanged in a fake case by the judiciary of that time in connivance with military dictator Ziaul Haq and therefore it is called as a ‘judicial murder’ in the entire judicial system. The participants were of the view that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the man who gave first ever constitution to this country and the PPP is still struggling to achieve a progressive and democratic Pakistan.
