Will there be a public holiday in Pakistan on September 6?

LAHORE – Pakistanis commemorate Defence Day every year in light of 1965 military victory against surprise attack by Indian army as the day used to be a public holiday, highlighting national unity and resilience.

Ahead of 2024 Defence Day, Pakistanis are wondering whether there will be a public holiday or not. In 2024, September 6 is not an official holiday, as per Federal Cabinet Division notification.

Amid the rumours, people are expecting a holiday on September, after similar decision to declare May 28 a holiday for Youm-e-Takbeer.

This is to be clear that there is NO holiday announced so far, and people are urged to get information from reliable sources.

September 6 is stood united as one solid edifice to meet the onslaught of an enemy that chose the cover of darkness to achieve its heinous ends of occupying our motherland.

On the other hand, a public holiday is confirmed for Eid Milad-un-Nabi SAW on which will be held in mid-September. The exact will be announced in coming days.
