Eid ul Adha 2024
Eid-ul-Adha holds deep spiritual significance, reminding Muslims of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) act of obedience.
In Pakistan and around the world, Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated with immense enthusiasm, starting with the Eid prayer. A key tradition of the festival is the animal sacrifice, known as Qurbani, performed in remembrance of Hazrat Ibrahim’s (A.S) willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah SWT.
The meat from the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts: one-third is kept by the family, one-third is given to relatives and friends, and the remaining one-third is distributed among the poor and needy.
Families and friends come together during this festival to share meals, exchange gifts, and participate in social activities. The festive spirit lasts for several days, with visits to each other’s homes and engagement in community gatherings.
