Weather outlook of Lahore, Punjab; more rains likely

LAHORE – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Sunday evening/night, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

As per the synoptic situation, a westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during the next 24 hours.

Under the influence of these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot and Narowal. Hot and dry weather is likely elsewhere in the province.

On Monday and Tuesday, hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, dust-raising/gusty winds are likely in southern districts with rain-wind/thunderstorms in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and surrounding areas during (evening/night). Partly cloudy/dry weather is likely in Murree, Galyat and surrounding areas.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 38-40°C on Monday and 39-41°C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in Lahore and parts of the province.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 31 per cent.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 35 per cent.
