Weather outlook of Islamabad, Pakistan; rain, light snowfall likely

ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A weak westerly wave will likely enter upper parts of the country on Thursday evening/night. It will likely move eastward on Friday.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills are likely in the twin cities, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 09-11 C on Friday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 12-14 C on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.

Chhor remained the hottest place in the country where temperature reached 41 C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 30 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 74 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 29 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.
