Water Corporation providing supply according to PCRWR direction

Spokesperson of the Water Corporation, while explaining the news in the media, has said that in order to prevent diseases caused by drinking water in the city, under the direction of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) and with the support of UNICEF, the Water Corporation was adding sodium hypochlorite to the water from seventeen different pumping stations, So that citizens are protected from cholera and other diseases.

Spokesman of KW&SC said that the sodium hypochlorite is being provided by a well known organization of Pakistan.

In addition, the Water Corporation adds the required dose of Chlorine to the water supplied to the citizens as per the standards and quantities set by the World Health Organization (WHO), while the process of adding Chlorine to the water supplied from all government hydrants of the Water Corporation has also been ensured and Lab Unit Staff Water Corporation regularly checks the dose of chlorine in water in different areas of the city including all labs.He said that the Water Corporation along with the Health Department and other relevant departments of the Government of Sindh have been working day and night for the prevention of Nigellaria and other diseases including cholera, further, Chief Chemist Water Corporation confirmed that all the costs of the project are being borne by UNICEF, and PCRWR is monitoring the project activities along with Water Corporation.

Spokesperson of the Water Corporation further said that the Water Corporation invites the citizens including the elected public representatives to visit the various installations including all the filter plants at any time to see the chlorine being added to the water.
