Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Pir Noorul Haq Qadri on Sunday stressed the need for forging complete unity and religious harmony to counter multifaceted challenges being posed by the enemy.
“It is the top priority of the incumbent government to promote peace, religious harmony and tolerance, besides the government is striving hard to create a peaceful environment across the country”, said Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri while addressing an interfaith conference. The daylong conference was organised by National peace committee Pakistan at Baghe Jinnah on Sunday.
The federal minister went on to say said that the incumbent government has taken all possible steps but all stakeholders will have to work together to promote peace & harmony in the society.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony, Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, Punjab Minister for HR&MA Ijaz Augustine and different parliamentarians also attended the conference. Religious scholars representing various schools of thought while addressing the conference declared that holding such conference is the only way forward to ensure unity and solidarity a in the country. They also lauded the services of religious scholars for promoting the message of peace, saying that Ulema from all schools of thought were standing behind it with complete unanimity and commitment.
Noorul Haq Qadri also stressed the need for extending complete support to Armed Forces in their endeavour to root out terrorism and extremism from the country.
In his address, Punjab Minister for HR&MA Ijaz Alam Augustine said that morality and human rights are an essential component of every religion and today’s conference will spread the message of unity and harmony. The Qur’an Pak and the Bible share a common message of love and peace, people of all faiths must work together to promote religious harmony among the nation. The provincial minister expressed concern over the atrocities committed by the Modi government against the religious minorities in India, especially the innocent Muslims in occupied Kashmir. Ijaz Alam Augustine further said that the Punjab government had taken many steps for the promotion of interfaith but through these types of conferences patience, kindness, forgiveness and tolerance could be promoted in a positive manner.
The other speakers also expressed their views and acknowledged the efforts of the incumbent Government for the freedom of religion and promotion of peace. They also condemned the violation of humanity in occupied Kashmir by Indian forces and prayed for the prosperity and development of the beloved country Pakistan.
