LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 123 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different housing schemes of Lahore.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 37 businesses in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 35 in New Muslim Town and the surroundings of Canal Bank Road, 28 in Johar Town, and 23 in Allama Iqbal Town.
The sealed premises include United Bank Limited (UBL), Society Public School, Juice Land, City Cash & Carry, software house, gym, beauty parlor, food outlets, workshops, private offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violations of building and parking bylaws, illegal commercial use and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
