RAWALPINDI – Security forces killed two terrorists and arrested another in Charbagh area of Swat, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.
The military’s media wing said the operation was conducted after receiving intelligence reports and is part of ongoing efforts to weed out terrorism in the country.
ISPR said an exchange of fire occurred during the operation, resulting in the death of two terrorists. Among those killed was Attaullah, alias Mehran, a known terrorist involved in several high-profile attacks. Attaullah was also responsible for a landmine attack on a convoy of foreigners on September 22.
Another terrorist was injured and arrested during the clash. Security forces have intensified the search operation in the area to locate any remaining terrorists, according to ISPR.
The military remains resolute in its commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country. “Security agencies are determined to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from Pakistan,” ISPR reiterated.
