Two held with weapons from entrance of Parade Ground

Prior to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s “Show of Power” at the Parade Ground Islamabad police Saturday arrested two persons carrying weapons.

According to the police spokesperson, investigation with the arrested persons was underway and will be shared with the media once their identification is verified.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police after the arrest of the men at the entrance gate of the PTI’s public meeting venue reached the site and ordered strict security measures and combing of all the exits and entrances of the venue.

It may be mentioned that some 2,000 police personnel of the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) along with 500 riot force were deployed on various entrance and exit points of the Parade Ground where Chairman of the PTI former Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed a big public gathering.Imran Khan led a rally from Rawalpindi and with him senior leadership of the PTI and President of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed also accompanied him.
