LAHORE – Two Ahmadis were gunned down in Mandi Bahauddin while police held the primary suspect and found murder weapon.

A report shared in English daily suggests that two men of Ahmidiya communty, a 50-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, were killed by armed assailants. One of the victim was returning from prayers, while the younger one was going toward the market when they were killed in the Saddullapur area of Phalia Police Circle.

Mandi Bahauddin DPO said the key suspect was held with the murder weapon from Saadullahpur, revealing his involvement in both shootings. The suspect was transferred from Bhagat police station to the Saddar Circle police station under heavy security.

After the incident, a large police contingent and DPO Mohiuddin were deployed at the scene to collect evidence. Cop took custody of both bodies and transported them to Phalia government hospital for post-mortem examinations, after which they would be released to their families.

Amid outrage, Punjab IGP summoned report from concerned officials and instructed DPO to assemble a special team.
