A resident of Sialkot has been beaten to death and set ablaze by a charged mob and the incident was linked to alleged blasphemy in Swat.
Reports shared on social media said the man’s body was dragged and set on fire. The police reportedly arrested man and took him in custody, but the crowd stormed police station, forcibly dragging him out and beating him with batons.
The horrific clips saw several man injured while a police station in Madain was torched in protests. As per initial reports, there was slight confrontation between protesters and police in Swat while a person was injured due to police firing.

Video of the protests and burning of police station are being shared on social media, with police seen vainly trying to stop huge number of protesters.
Such incidents of vigilante violence are often related to blasphemy accusations and were reported widely. Many accused of blasphemy have been attacked, sometimes fatally, by mobs before they could be tried in court.
Such actions are widely condemned both within Pakistan for their disregard for human rights and the principle of justice.
