The government has achieved a breakthrough in testing capacity of the maximum number of coronavirus cases that has jumped from 30,000 on March 13 to 280,000 on April 1, 2020 (today). Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health Dr Zafar Mirza said this while talking to media after a press briefing here Tuesday. Earlier, while addressing the press conference with Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar Dr Zafar Mirza said people needed to follow social distancing in order to limit the spread of the virus in Pakistan. He said there were reports that those tested positive were not treated humanely. Prime Minister Imran Khan also in Tuesday’s cabinet meeting took notice of the incidents of treating coronavirus patients as if they were criminals or castaway. Ministry of Health Services in its update on dedicated website showed that Punjab had maximum number of patients (652). Punjab is followed by Sindh with 627, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) with 221, Balochistan 153, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) 148, Islamabad 58 and Pakistanoccupied Kashmir 6 cases of COVID-19
