Temperature is dropped to below freezing point in Abbottabad city and adjoining hilly areas of Abbottabad especially in Galiyats and Thandiyani due to continuous rain and snowfall for since yesterday evening. Heaviest snow fall of the current winter season was reported in Donga Gali, Changla Gali, Bara Gali, Nathtia Gali, Ayubia and Thandiyani.
Despite chilly weather, a large number of tourists reached there and enjoying snow fall. Officials of the Galiyat Development authority including their Director General Raza Ali Habib is personally supervising the snow removing operation along with officials of KPK Highway and C & W engineering and road staff is also busy to keep the roads clear and helping the tourists.
In the meantime, SSP Traffic Abbottabad Tariq Khan has chalked out the special traffic plan for the tourists and with the co-operation of GDA and KPK Highway authority has divided entire Galiyats in four zones and 4 mobile of the traffic police will be placed in every zone along with newly established Tourism Police which is equipped with all necessary equipment’s to tackle any incident etc.
