FAISALABAD – Police in Faisalabad arrested two suspects accused of torturing eleven-year-old housemaid to death.
As per local laws, it is illegal to employ anyone under the age but it remains common. Child labour remains a stagnant issue in the country, affecting millions of children as poverty, lack of access to education, and cultural factors are some of the main reasons why children are forced into work.
The harrowing incidents continue to be reported across Pakistan and in the latest development, an 11-year-old girl was tortured to death by her owners in Faisalabad.
The deceased identified as Ayesha was shifted to Civil Hospital by her employers in an unconscious condition, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Physicians also found torture marks on her different body parts including the head, legs, arms, and hands of the minor girl. Cops also lodged a case and detained two suspects for interrogation.
Furthermore, Child Protection Bureau Chairperson took notice of the incident and directed the office to contact the family of the victim.
Police further said the killer of the maid would be brought to justice, adding that all legal aid would be provided to her family in the case.
