Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and International Trade Centre organized a seminar on ‘Women-in-Trade: Export Readiness 101’ at Expo Center, Hyderabad for capacity building of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan. It is part of series of seminars leading to upcoming WEXNET exhibition scheduled in February 2022 in Lahore.
Mr. Muhammad Abbass Balouch, Commissioner Hyderabad highlighted trade potential of region and appreciated TDAP’s recent takeover of Expo Center, Hyderabad and TDAP’s initiative of facilitating stakeholders to showcase their products and helping them in getting familiar with export mechanism through such export readiness seminars.
On the occasion, Mr. Bhai Khan Shar, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design, and Heritages, Jamshoro appreciated holding of seminar and to train and enable women of the region to get into mainstream of domestic and international trade.
Dr. Shumaila Sikandar, DD TDAP briefed on importance of women entrepreneurship and incentives of TDAP to empower women to join trade. Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Zafar, Adviser, ITC informed about technical assistance being provided to MoC and TDAP under the Revenue Mobilization Investment and Trade (ReMIT) Project.
Mr. Ashiq Hussain Khoso, Deputy Director, TDAP Hyderabad facilitated women entrepreneurs in putting up their stalls for display of variety of products being made in the region. The seminar was attended by 51 women entrepreneurs.
