Bollywood senior actor and comedian Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped and tortured, the Indian media reported on Wednesday.
The Street 2 actor was in the custody of kidnappers for 24 hours.
Shivam Yadav told the local media that “Mushtaq Khan was abducted under the pretext of attending an event in Meerut. Advance payments and tickets had been sent to Mushtaq for attending the event,”.
Shivam Yadav further explained that “When comedian Mushtaq Khan arrived in Delhi, he was taken by car to Bijnor, where the kidnappers tortured him and demanded a ransom of Rs10 million Indian rupees,”.
Mushtaq Khan’s business partner shared that “The kidnappers continued to torture Mushtaq for almost 12 hours. During this time, they demanded a ransom of Rs10 million and eventually managed to withdraw Rs200,000 from the comedian and his son’s accounts,”.
Regarding Mushtaq Khan’s escape from the kidnappers’ grasp, Shivam Yadav mentioned that “After being abducted, the next morning, Mushtaq heard the Fajr prayer and realized that there was a mosque nearby and no one was around. He took the opportunity to escape. His escape was like a scene from a Hindi film. He reached the mosque, sought help from the people there and the police, and safely reached home,”.
Shivam Yadav added that Mushtaq Khan filed an FIR regarding his abduction, and the police are now searching for the kidnappers.
A few days ago, another famous Indian stand-up comedian and actor, Sunil Pal, was also abducted under the pretext of being invited to a birthday celebrations. He was later released after paying a ransom.
