Police in Sargodha arrested an alleged thief on Saturday and recovered 11 stolen rickshaws, one motorcycle, and cash from him. The accused, identified as Ijaz, was arrested by the Factory Area police with the help of the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) during a raid in the city.
The police said that Ijaz was a habitual offender and had been involved in stealing rickshaws and motorcycles for the past several years. He would steal the vehicles from different parts of the city and then sell them to unsuspecting buyers.
The police said that they had received several complaints from the owners of rickshaws and motorcycles that their vehicles had been stolen. After conducting an investigation, the police zeroed in on Ijaz and arrested him.
The police said that they have also recovered 11 stolen rickshaws, one motorcycle, and cash from Ijaz. He has been booked under relevant sections of the law and will be presented in court on Monday.
