Admitting that the recovery of missing persons was the responsibility of the state, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that the government would make all possible efforts so that these persons could be reunited with their families.

Addressing a press conference along with the leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) at the latter’s headquarters in Bahadurabad,

Karachi, he said he knew that each and every second was extremely painful for the family members of these persons. “All my prayers and sympathies are with them, and I will meet them to listen to their grievances,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said whisking away people was a crime. “We don’t want those who picked up our party workers to be punished; all we want is the return of near and dear ones to their homes,” he added.

Siddiqui said now it was crystal clear that the MQM-P was not the party of terrorists.—NNI
