The Drug Squad seized addictive and spurious medicines worth millions of rupees and sealed a godown here on Tuesday.
According to details, acting on a tip-off, the Drug Squad officials raided a warehouse situated on Kotwali Road in Faisalabad.
During search of the warehouse, huge quantity of addictive and spurious medicines, worth Rs50 million were recovered.
The warehouse has been sealed off. The officials, however, made no arrest during raid.
According to officials, the recovered drugs were supplied to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other cities.
Meanwhile, a man was killed and two others including a woman suffered burns when a blast occurred in a fireworks factory at Yasin Chowk in Makuana area on Jarranwala Road here Tuesday.
The Rescue 1122 officials said that workers were making fireworks products when it caught fire and exploded with a bang.
Consequently, one person identified as Ghulam Shabir, resident of Chak 229-RB died on the spot while a woman identified as: Fouzia, wife of Abdul Ghafoor and an unidentified person sustained burns.
The rescue team shifted the victims to Allied Hospital. Police have collected forensic evidence from the incident site and started legal action.
