The Sindh Premier League (SPL) Junior Draft event held in Karachi, marked a significant milestone for cricket’s future in Sindh. Sindh Sports Minister Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar praised the league for providing a platform for emerging talent, saying: “The Sindh Premier League Junior is a commendable initiative to showcase young talent. This year’s junior league is SPa praiseworthy effort to nurture grassroots talent and turn dreams into reality.” “We conducted trials across various regions in Sindh, including Karachi and the interior, where thousands of players participated. Our aim is to discover talent from every corner of Sindh and provide them with the opportunities they deserve.” Seven teams participated in the draft event: Ghotki Tigers, MirpurkhasMehrans, Benazirabad Warriors, Larkana Indus, Karachi Qaed, Hyderabad Heroes, Sukkur Dolphins, each team selected four international players, two non-Sindh emerging Pakistani players, nine emerging Sindhi players, and one overseas player.
This unique format creates new opportunities for young cricketers across Sindh. Pakistan Observer Chairman Faisal Zahid Malik commended the event as a robust platform for nurturing young talent and promoting their skills in cricket.
