At least four people were killed and few others received injuries in a bomb explosion near a hospital in South Waziristan on Friday while terrorists’ attack on Police Post in Mardan left a cop martyred and two others seriously wounded.
The blast, believed to be an Improvised Explosive Device, occurred near City Hospital on Karikot Road in Wana, the headquarters of the South Waziristan district.
According to initial information from hospital authorities, four people died in the explosion. The explosive device was planted on a motorcycle. Some reports say the blast targeted the vehicle of Taliban commander Ainullah, who escaped unhurt.
Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, condemning the attack, expressed sorrow over the loss of lives. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. In a statement, Governor Kundi said, “Those who target innocent people are the enemies of humanity.”

According to reports the unknown militants stormed a police post in Takht Bhai Archeology Tehsil and resorted to firing with sophisticated weapons that resulted in the death of Constable Umar Nabi and injuries to two constables, Muhammad Fayaz and Shabbir.
The security forces cordoned off the area and shifted the injured personnel and the deceased to Mardan Medical Complex for treatment. The martyred cop, Umar Nabi, officials say, hailed from the Kondkhor area.
The security forces are also reported to have kicked off operation in the area to hunt the miscreants responsible for attack on the Police Post.
