Solar eclipse 2nd October 2024: When and where to watch Suraj Grahan

KARACHI – The second solar eclipse of year 2024 will occur on October 2 and 3, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The partial solar eclipse will begin at 20:43 PST on 2nd October while total eclipse will start at 21:51 PST and maximum eclipse will take place at 23:45 PST on 2nd October.

The Met Office said the total eclipse will end at 01:39 PST on 3rd October while partial eclipse will end at 02:47 PST.

Solar Eclipse Will Be Visible in These Areas

It will be visible in most of South America and from South in North America, Pacific, Atlantic and Antarctica. However it will not be visible in Pakistan.

Myths About Eclipse During Pregnancy

In Pakistan and India, pregnant women are used to advise to avoid sleeping, bathing, cutting vegetables or fruits during eclipse, as a segment of society believes that such activities could cause their baby to have birth marks.

However, this belief has not scientific reason.
