Sindh intensifies crackdown on corruption, 5 FIRs registered

Under the directives of Sindh Minister for Anti-Corruption Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, the Anti-Corruption Department ramped up its actions against corrupt officers. During a key meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary and Anti-Corruption Committee One, significant decisions were made, including the initiation of inquiries against officers from 11 departments and the registration of five FIRs against officials from four departments. Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Department, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, approved these actions, which involve 16 open inquiries and requests for comments from eight departments.

Specifically, two cases were filed against Revenue officers, one against the Mirpurkhas Education Board, one against the Irrigation Department, and one against the Education Department. Shah emphasized that Minister Mahar has mandated a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, promising swift action upon receiving complaints. The crackdown targets officers from various sectors, including Revenue, Education Boards, Irrigation, School Education, Municipalities, Livestock, Works Services, Food, Cooperative, and Labor Departments, highlighting the government’s commitment to tackling corruption across the province.
