A delegation of International Labour Organization headed by Ms. Caroline Beats called on Sindh Minister for Information & Labour Saeed Ghani at his office here on Monday. The delegation consisted ILO consultant Dr. Corner Cardean and Najmuddin Shaam. Director Labour Saeed Jumani and other offices of the department were also present on this occasion.
The delegation praised the implementation of labour friendly policies by the Sindh Government. Ms Caroline said that the delegation started its visit from the Sindh province because the province has implemented best policies for labour welfare.
She said that the labour policies executed by the Sindh province should be implemented in the whole country in accordance with the International Convention in all the provinces in the country. On the occasion, Information and Labor Minister Sindh Saeed Ghani said that it was the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to create a labor friendly environment in Sindh province.
“We have formed a trilateral committee consisting of laborers, employers and labor officers, and such a trilateral committee has been established in Sindh province only,” he said. Saeed Ghani said that this committee is fully empowered and is working together to solve all the problems of the workers and the employers. Saeed Ghani added that we want the workers and their families to be provided maximum health and education facilities and all resources are being utilized for this, he concluded.
