Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation, Narcotics Control, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has announced the implementation of a project to connect the Orange and Green Lines through shuttle services. Chairing a high-level meeting in Karachi, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon revealed that initially, shuttle services would be demonstrated immediately after Eid, with free shuttle services provided from Annu Bhai Park to Jinnah Women’s College.
He stated that the federal government had pledged 300 buses under the PSDP project worth Rs. 18 billion. Discussions will be held with the federal government regarding the provision of buses under the PSDP project. Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted the negligence of the previous government towards the Red Line BRT, causing delays.
Efforts from all stakeholders are being made to expedite the Red Line BRT project once again. He expressed the desire to complete the Red Line BRT project expeditiously for the benefit of the public. Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the Sindh government is working on initiating an inter-city bus service, intending to purchase 500 buses for the convenience of the public under the Inter-District Transport Project. He mentioned that work is progressing rapidly on the Yellow Line bus service, hoping that soon the public will benefit from the Yellow Line bus service. Buses will operate from Karachi to Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas to Hyderabad, Larkana to Sukkur, and Larkana to Qambar Shahdadkot.
