On the instructions of DHO Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman in District Lower South Waziristan, Pakistan Red Crescent Society arranged a seminar on Leishmania Parasites and Dengue Virus at DHO Office Wana.
In which a large number of health employees, workers participated, on this occasion Additional DHO Dr. Hidayatullah, Dr. Shafiq, Dr. Asmat Ullah and Incharge of Malaria Program Allah Noor gave useful information to the forum about prevention and control measures against Leishmania parasites and dengue virus, shared with the participants and had a lively discussion on it.
Pakistan Red Crescent Society District Program Officer of Lower South Waziristan Zia Ur Rehman Wazir specially participated in the seminar. In the seminar, the in-charge of IVMP Program of DHO Office, Allah Noor, gave an insightful discussion on the situation of Leishmania parasites and Dengue virus.
He added that in South Waziristan no indigenous dengue case has been reported from any Health facility. However, indoor Larva Surveillance activities and outdoor Larva Surveillance activities are being carried out by LHWs and Paramedical staff, respectively. Incharge Allah Noor said that this year 339 cases of leishmania have been reported in Lower South Waziristan district in 2023.
