To shed light on engineers’ contribution towards economic growth of the country, the College of Engineering & Technology University of Sargodha (UoS) conducted a seminar titled: “The Role of Engineer in Economic Development.”
UoS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir welcomed the chief guest during his keynote address.
He emphasized on transforming bureaucracy to technocracy and bringing forth engineers for development projects like China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He underscored that the Pakistan Engineering Council has to reserve a significant quota of engineers in bureaucracy.
The chief guest University of Punjab Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar stressed upon the significant role of engineers in substantially improving the country’s economy with their genuine and remarkable efforts.
He also addressed the issue of unemployment of engineering graduates and offered his unique thoughts on the challenging scenario.
He asserted that engineering students should be given internship chances to hone their abilities. He also mentioned that the notion of entrepreneurship should be encouraged among engineers.
While talking about the reforms in educational institutions, he added that we can revamp the quality of education in any academic institution by embracing technological advancement and making reforms in Management and social systems.
